Vol 18: Twists in normal tales

Hi there. Hope you have been revelling in the goodness that is the Universe. A small portion of that goodness is distilled in this volume of Positivity Weekly.
You know, we don’t start any volume seeking a theme. Sometimes, a theme simply emerges from the cocoon of research and compilation. This week’s theme seems to be “twists in normal tales”. Hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as we enjoyed bringing them to you.

Reality versus fantasy
There is the fantasy of love.
And then there is the reality of love.
Experience them juxtaposed here.
The time to be happy is NOW
Remember Stephen Fry who played the unflappable Jeeves in the Jeeves and Wooster series? The smart guy featured in BBC? Well, even if you don’t who he is, you will know the wisdom of his words in this video. Some people attend arduous workshops to be given this message. All you need to do is spend 3 minutes engrossed in Fry’s assessment of how we derive meaning in life. Good luck!
Malala stuns again
Malala Yousufzai is back. Sure, you know who she is. She’s the plucky girl from Swat valley who showed the world that Taliban’s ideology of hatred is actually powerless against bright and determined souls. Not surprisingly, she is the youngest person to have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Watch her reiterate her well-known ideas and leave Jon Stewart speechless. And that is an act of wonder in itself. All Malala did to achieve this feat was speak from her heart!
Mental Health is a continuum
Even though most of us are chemically-energized blobs of neuroses, we also consider ourselves to be quite sane and, er, “normal.” Well, that pride is rather misplaced for more reasons than one.
For starters, nobody is normal. And more importantly, it ain’t about the certificate medical science gives you. It’s all about how brightly you live your life. And here are a few exceptional human beings who weren’t quite… normal.
Makes one wonder, right?
5 more years to live
Initially, I wasn’t sure about including this particular video in our newsletter. The final message isn’t all that positive. But I was intrigued by how the kids responded to the question “What would you do if you found out you had 5 more years to live?”
My favourite response: “That’s a lot of time.”
Which response moved you into a higher plane of compassion?

In conclusion

All Fool’s Day, known in India as April Fool’s Day, is upon us. I request one and all not to succumb to negative thoughts and negative actions. Those realms belong to fools!! :).

News from the public domain A one-armed leader Miles O’Brien was just an average Joe. Assuming that the average Joe jet sets around the world, bringing difficult-to-cover news stories to your television screens.
