Vol 26: Redemption is always available

In Life, things go wrong. In Life, when things go wrong, people can falter. In Life, when things go wrong and people falter, they can feel lost. In Life, when things go wrong, people falter and feel lost, they can always bounce back. Second chances are available to those who look for them. The upward curve becomes visible to those looking for it. The stories illustrated below simply prove the inevitable manifestation of this beautiful and redeeming truth. News from the public domain Confiding in a crowd Tenth-grader Elijah, a boy who is feeling suicidal, throws a challenge to the universe. In other words, he challenges his classmates to empathize with him. "I want everybody to stand up. If you really care about me and care about my issues, I want you to stand up." And his fellow students respond to his call. They stand up. Elijah decides to live on. The boy is just another recipient of empathy, kindness and love in a school in West Philadelphia tha

Vol 25: Wonderful unusual journeys

Good times to you, Peeker (Positivity Seeker). The theme for this week is “unusual personal journeys”. Each day, all of us awaken to a potentially unusual journey. Sometimes, we accept Life’s offer to embark on them. Let’s read about what happened to other Good Samaritans when they undertook such journeys. News from the public domain Another Schindler from history Sir Nicholas Winton doesn’t like the moniker “Britain’s Schindler” although it describes him in aptly and pithily. Back in 1938, he was a 29-year-old stockbroker based in London. He happened to vacation in Prague exactly as the Germans breached the Czech border. Thousands of Jew children had to be evacuated in no time. He managed this operation from London, playing a key role in the rescue of 669 children. Their descendants number 6000 today. A few days ago, this unsung hero celebrated his 105 th   birthday with news that the Czech Republic will bestow its highest honour – the Order of the White Lion –

Vol 24: Actions loud and beautiful

Good times to you, dear Peeker. After a week’s gap, we are back in our positivity groove. India has just given a decisive mandate to one party to govern it for the next five years. One hopes that the new government will leverage on unprecedented (in recent times) majority to plan and execute visionary policies that will unite and strengthen India. That’s almost a sixth of humankind. And as India rises, so will the world. Amen to that. Now on to our usual segments. This week, our focus is on people and nations that have taken loud and positive actions against all odds. News from the public domain Selfie summit There are selfies and then there’s this phenomenal celebration of exploration and self-absorption . We are always keen to present the splendour of our planet in as many ways as we can. This is one of the best ways. Squirrel feeder with a difference Some stories are encapsulated in a single picture. One stares and stares at it till all the lovely dimension

Vol 23: The Nature of goodness

Hello Peekers! This week’s newsletter is being released from a different city. Needless to say, the spirit behind it remains unchanged. As I sit in a cyber cafe, acknowledging signs of the sweltering heat on my forehead, I remind myself of the months I spent in subzero temperature. Those days were filled with warmth too, but the air outside was a reminder that sunlight is a life-affirming force. Today, I am blessed with an abundance of this love. Knowing that makes the sweat feel like a warm welcome. I'm home. This week, we explore the goodness of Nature and the nature of Goodness. Hope you enjoy the goodness going all around. News from the public domain Lust for life When cows, cooped inside for a long and harsh winter and scheduled to be killed, are released into the open… well, they prance about and exhibit a lust for life. In the process, they give a rare sense of satisfaction to their saviours. This is a positive video with a difference. 102 and going s
